工作坊 Workshops:

工作坊一 :Tearing of the Veil: A Perspective on Intercultural Marriage (英文工作坊/ AI自動文字翻譯)
講員: M Charis Geevarughese Morris, PhD & Rick Morris, PhD

Charis was born and raised in Malaysia. ... She grew up in a Malayali Christian family with an evangelical pastor father and a high school principal mother. Charis initially came to the US in 2008 under a Fulbright Scholarship for graduate school at Biola University and returned to Malaysia in 2013 after completing her PhD in Clinical Psychology. She practiced in Malaysia for two years and returned to the US in 2016 when she married Rick. Charis currently works as a clinical psychologist at Kaiser Permanente near Sacramento.

Rick was born and raised in Cupertino, California. Growing up, his family attended Bethel Lutheran Church, though he often participated in the youth group at Fifth Home of Christ. After high school, he served for nine years in the Marine Corps, leaving to pursue graduate studies in philosophy. He completed a PhD in Philosophy from UC Davis and, realizing that academic philosophy was perhaps not a great career path, pivoted to tech. He now works as an AI engineer at an East Coast-based startup.

They met here in the Bay Area while attending The Highway Community in Mountain View, and currently attend First Baptist Church in Davis, where Rick recently served three years as an elder and Charis teaches Sunday school. They have a 7-year-old, Elijah, and a 5-year-old, Lily.

工作坊二: Come to the Table in the Middle: An Invitation to a Deeper Journey (Zoom) (英文工作坊/ AI自動文字翻譯)
講員: Jenn Chen

Jenn is an author, speaker, leadership coach... and spiritual director who has spent over two decades serving in Asia and raising her family. She homeschooled her four children who are almost all married. She loves being a mom and grandma in this season. She is now based in Seattle where she and her husband co-direct Summit Clear, a nonprofit focused on mentoring and coaching ministry leaders. Jenn’s parents are from Hong Kong, she regularly speaks to first generation Chinese parents about raising second and third generation Chinese Americans. She is also the co- founder for Khora Collective where she is chief of spiritual formation. Jenn’s book, Dim Sum and Faith just released August 2025 and is about how God uses our stories to shape our souls.

工作坊三: The Way Back Home: Integrating Identity and Asian Family (英文工作坊/ AI自動文字翻譯)
講員: Tania Choi-Chia, LMFT

Tania is a psychotherapist, writer, and speaker... whose work sits at the intersection of theology, psychology, and Asian identity. Based in California, she brings over a decade of clinical experience in attachment, trauma, and relational healing, integrating modalities such as EMDR, somatic therapy, and depth-oriented psychotherapy.

Born in Singapore and shaped by cross-cultural experiences, Tania is especially attuned to the ways faith, family, and culture converge within Asian communities. Her work explores how theological ideas of love, sacrifice, honor, and obedience are often embodied within family systems – sometimes nurturing connection, and at other times complicating the formation of a coherent self.

Drawing from both clinical practice and spiritual reflection, Tania examines the role of “mirroring” as a deeply human and theological need—the experience of being seen, known, and reflected by another. She invites a reimagining of formation that includes not only doctrine, but the relational and embodied ways we come to know ourselves as held in the gaze of God and others.

工作坊四: 在兩個世界之間: 雙文化身份、心理健康與歸屬
講員: 林青穎博士 (Eltice Lin), PhD
