President’s Message
Dear beloved supporters of CWTS, Peace be unto you!
At the beginning of a New Year, let’s start with giving thanks and praises to God and also wishing you a blessed New Year!
Last year, God has let us shout with joy in harvest. Even though we were expecting an acue challenge, yet we experienced an abundant year of harvest. Last June, CWTS not only received the full membership recognition by ATS but also attained the highest standard of 7-ear initial certification. At the same time, ATS also made CWTS’self-study report as the ATS model for other applicant schools to use it as a reference. What a blessing that, once again, God bestowed upon us special grace and unique honor. I thoroughly experienced what Paul said: “I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.” -1Cor3:6 KJV
According to our 10-year strategic plan, given what we have received and charged, we continue to focus on four main goals: nurture high quality shepherds, raise up high quality teachers, encourage and train up missionaries and equip church leaders.
The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few. To address this great need, we wish to establish “7 Initiatives for 2017”objectives as follow:
- To establish Th. M. degree program
- To expand Ministry Institute
- To recruit faculty in Practical Theology
- To strengthen Alumni Relation
- To grow online course offerings
- To purchase a student dormitory
- To achieve Endowment goal
We have already started planning the Th. M. Program and hope to gain ATS’ approval soon. We plan to start the pilot program this fall to train up high-quality teachers for Chinese churches and support the great need in Asia. We hope by the year 2020, CWTS’ graduates can minister up to 6,000 Christians in the Bay Area and 6,000 in Asia. Through our alumni’s ministries in evangelism and preaching the Gospel, we hope 2,000 people will be led to Christ in the Bay Area and 5,000 in Asia. In addition, we also hope to, in the Bay Area and Asia, train up 50 pastors who are dedicated to making disciplers.
The need is great in the field, likewise for CWTS. What we need the most is your prayer support as one in Christ. We firmly believe that this year will be another year of experiencing God’s abundant grace. We sincerely ask you to continue to lift us up in your prayers.
May God continue to bless you in the years to come.
In Christ,
Rev. Jeffrey Lu
